DHRRA Malaysia is a voluntary non-profit and non-political organization registered in 2006 under the Societies Act of Malaysia 1966. It evolved from what was formerly known as MasDHRRA (1974-1998) and later, DHRRA Network Malaysia (1999 – 2005) that worked towards organizing a strong rural and self-reliant community through poverty alleviation and people’s empowerment initiatives.
Among the thousands who are awaiting the result of their application for citizenship is a batch from the pre-Merdeka days who were born here and have lived here all their lives.

DHRRA Spreads its Wings… Over National Television Screen to Reach the Vulnerable Communities
Once again, for the second consecutive year, DHRRA Malaysia was invited to feature in a National Television programme aimed towards empowering women viewers at home. While in the previous season DHRRA demonstrated various income generating skills, in this season, the viewers were enlightened with knowledge and awareness on everyday-family-issues. The segment aired weekly as a part of a half-an-hour programme entitled Pavayar Pungga – Women’s Park on RTM Channel 2 which has created many “ah-ha” moments among the women (and men). Thus kindling them to pause and reassess their lives in various area and ultimately build a better life.

Monday August 9, 2010 Staff in over 300 firms lose out on Socso
JOHOR BARU: More than 300 employers in the state have not registered their workers with the Social Security Organisation (Socso) this year. State Socso director Che Hamid Che Ahmad said this was worrying, pointing out that for last year, only 250 employers failed to do so.

WORKERS involved in accidents at work are covered by the Social Security Organisation (Socso) even if their employers have not submitted their contributions to the organisation.Deputy Human Resources Minister Datuk Maznah Mazlan said Socso would cover the workers' medical claims, but the employers would be fined for failing to submit their contributions.
