Uma is blessed with 3 children – 2 sons and 1 daughter. When her youngest daughter was 5 years old, her husband passed away. She raised her children through hardship and struggle. She worked in a factory to support her children’s education and living expenses. Today, her son has a decent job whereas her daughter  is waiting for her SPM results.As she was ready to retire and smell the roses, an unexpected  crisis hit the small family.

According to Mr. R, his 14 years old son , Ram (not his real name) has series of anger outburst. He gets angry often even with his father. He cannot accept if his father says anything to him. One of the extreme outbursts was when he walked from Kepong to Batu Caves because he was angry with his father. He even tried to cross the highway which was dangerous act.

Pregnant_Courage to Move onLike any other girls, Leela was had lots of dream about her marriage life. She met Raja in her friends wedding. It was love at first site. At that time she knew nothing about Raja. Leela was introduced to Raja by her friend Nitya. They exchanged their business cards.

Their relationship did not end there. A couple of weeks later she received a call from an unknown number. Although Leela was hesitated to answer, after missed 2 calls she decided to answer the call. She was surprised that it was a call from Raja.

Reaching outVinod first came to DHRRA Community Centre when he was 16 years old, Form 3. His parents were frustrated of his character and behavior. Vinod had lots of disciplinary problem in the school. Every now and then he will be suspended from school. Second ChanceShanthi(not her real name) is 19 years old. Her parents passed away when she was 12 years old. She was the youngest of her 9 siblings. Since her parents passed away she became like a “football”, she never had a permanent place to live. She was send from one place to another. She had to stop schooling due to frequent transfer from one place to another. Shanthi was trying to cope with the new situation but soon she became frustrated as she never got love and affection from anyone. She was badly treated by her siblings who felt she was a burden to them.

Amputated It was a love marriage. The couple fell in love with each other and then decided to share their lives. However, after marriage their life turned sour as they quarreled day after day. Despite the tension between them, they were blessed with 2 children; a son (age 6) and a daughter (age 4). For the first four years of the marriage, the wife went through many arguments with the husband, was beaten by him  and even faced financial difficulties. These situation worsened by the drinking habit of the husband which contributed to the frequency and intensity of their arguments. There were many nights where the husband will return home in only about 3am or 4am.
