With the collaboration of Kelab Bell Belia Tamil Taiping (KBBT), DHRRA Malaysia organized a program for youths in Taiping. The program addressed some of the social issues engulfing teenagers at this point of time.

More to get full loans from PTPTN

KUALA LUMPUR: In a move to make higher education more accessible, the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) will offer full loans, covering tuition fees and subsistence, to students from families with a net income of less than RM4,000 a month.Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said the new ruling would take effect on July 1.

Sungkai NS CampDHRRA Malaysia was invited to reach out to the Indian youths of Sungkai National Service Camp.  The program was conducted by Mr Saravanan Sinapan and Miss Nanthini Ramalo in the month of February 2010.
National Service was introduced in 2004. The objective of National Service Camp is to enhance patriotism among the youth, enhance unity, instil positive values & morale among the young minds, increase volunteerism and to create a generation of dynamic youths.

An event was held in Prai, Butterworth for the students from form 1 to form 5 of SM Prai. The objective of the program was to get the students to realize the importance of education, especially at these times of hardship with the recession and also to get them to realize how hard their parents try to get them proper education.

Motivation_taiping homeA motivation programme was recently held for the children of Taiping Children’s Home. The boys and girls were between 15 and 17 years old. The programme was meant as a preparation session for the students who would soon be sitting for their PMR and SPM examinations.

The session was handled by Mr Saravanan, Ms Nanthini and Ms Vaani. It kicked off with an ice breaking session.

Motivation Program at SMK Darul RidzuanA talk was held for the students of SMK Darul Ridzuan. Mr Saravanan, gave an inspiring talk which awed the participants. In the session, he spoke on the role of education in uplifting the socioeconomic stands of families. A discussion was held to identify the challenges faced by the students and how they can overcome it.

Discovering Self MotivationMotivation is one of the most important key to success. It is through motivation that one takes action to reach the pre-determined goals. In the past, students’ motivation has been much more intrinsic. The desire to succeed was embedded deep in the students’ heart. Motivational programs, talks and camps were rarely heard of. Parents did not spend a fortune to send their children for these programs. The students’ source of motivation came from the inspirational people around them, the desire to climb the ladder of socioeconomic status and etc.

Preparing for STPMSTPM students who would be sitting for the STPM examination where given motivation talk. by our resource person. They were told how to manage their time. He also reminded them to make use of their school holiday in preparing for their examination. To make the session more lively group activities were conducted in which participants participate actively. They were also imposed to public speaking.

Kabadi Training_Dengkil CCDengkil Community Centre organizes Kabadi training sessions at the centre every month. One of these training sessions took place recently. The turn out are now up to 40 participants. This activity has become one of the favorite get together for the Dengkil children.
