SOCSO'S EDUCATION BENEFIT This benefit comes in the form of a loan or scholarship given to dependant children of an insured employee who is in receipt of a monthly benefit, provided that the dependant children fulfill the eligibility conditions set by SOCSO. CONDITIONS FOR APPLICATION   1.      Applicants must be the dependant children of an insured person who:-          * Dies as a result of an employment injury; or          * Dies as a result of any cause before reaching 55 years of age but has fulfilled the Survivor's Pension qualifying conditions; or          * Is receiving invalidity pension; or          * Dies while receiving invalidity pension; or is in receipt of a monthly benefit resulting from permanent disablement.   2. Unmarried;   3. Below 21 years of age at the time of submitting his application towards SOCSO;   4. Fulfilled the required academic standards conditions set by SOCSO;   5. Has been registered in any government or private institution of higher learning for Degree, Diploma or Certificate courses;   6. For applicants enrolling in private institutions, such an institution must have been in operation for at least 2 years and approved by the Private       Education Department, Ministry of Education Malaysia. Courses pursued must be approved by the National Accreditation Department;   7. For applicants pursuing a Certificate course, the duration of the course must be at least 1 year and the course taken must be recognized by the National Vocational Training Council, Ministry of Human Resources, Malaysia.   8. Study Courses must be on a full time basis and must be completed in Malaysia;   9. The applicant is not receiving any scholarship/loan or full education support from any other agencies;  10. The family finances resources are insufficient to meet the cost of education. Note:   1. The following persons are not eligible to apply for this loan:          * Primary and secondary school students          * Brothers and sisters of the Insured          * Scholar/matriculation/pre/assessment/foundationstudents   2. It shall be the full responsibility of students to ensure that the private institution and the courses being pursued have been approved by the relevant regulatory departments. LOAN REPAYMENT    * The borrower is required to repay all the money loaned from SOCSO by monthly installments once he completes or ceases his study course.    * The loan repayment period is between 2 to 25 years, depending on the approved loan amount (Please refer to Attachment 1).    *The first monthly installment must begin on the 1st date of the seventh (7) month after the borrower completes or ceases his study course or when he starts working, whichever earlier. GUIDELINES TO SOCSO EDUCATION LOAN REPAYMENT Repayment can be made either by:-    * remittance through any approved bank; or    * cheque/bank draft/postal money/postal money order      Bank : MAYBANK only      Recipient : AKAUN TABUNG PINJAMAN PENDIDIKAN      Account no. : 564427000324          * Payment can be made at any nearest MAYBANK branch.    * MAYBANK's payment slip must be completed.    * Payment through ATM machine / Standing Instruction / Fast-Cheque Deposit is forbidden. By using Cheque / Bank Draft / Postal Money / Postal Money Order.    *Please make the payments payable to KETUA EKSEKUTIF PERKESO.    *Payment document should have no amendments what-soever.    *Indicate the borrower's name, Identity Card no. and the words 'Bayaran Balik Pinjaman Pendidikan' at the back of the payment document. HOW TO APPLY FOR A SOCSO EDUCATION LOAN Applicants must submit Form PKS (F)100 with complete details, attached with a passport-sized photo and a certified true copy of the following documents:    * Birth Certificate;    * Identity Card;    * Examination results transcript for PMR/SPM/STPM/CERTIFICATE/DIPLOMA;    * School Leaving Certificate;    * Offer Letter for enrollment to the Institute of Higher Learning;    * Certification Letter for registration at the Higher Learning Institute/Registration receipts;    * Study course duration and fees;    * College Approval Letter from the Private Education Department (for applications in a Private Higher Learning Institute) and course approval from National Accreditation Department;    * Letter of Commissioning from the National Vocational Training Council - for application of Certificate courses; SOCSO Pension Statement.
