TEMERLOH: Four siblings whose births were not registered by their parents will finally get their birth certificates, thanks to the Social Welfare Department (JKM) and the National Registration Depart-ment (JPN) here.

PUTRAJAYA: Malaysians will soon have only “one number for all transactions” as reference and account numbers when dealing with the 760 government departments and agencies nationwide, thanks to the new MyID system.
Applications are now open to Malaysians for scholarship awards offered by the following educational institutions.

* be Malaysian citizens of not more than 25 years of age as at 1st January 2010. * have excelled in extra-curricular activities & active in sports. * not be bonded to or in receipt of any financial aid or awards from other educational institutions or organizations. * for Foundation / Diploma courses, applicants must possess reasonably good results in the SPM / UEC or equivalent. * for the Higher and Advanced Diploma / Degree courses, applicants must possess reasonably good results in the STPM / A-Level / UEC or equivalent.

NIBONG TEBAL: A 33-year-old mother suffered burns after allegedly setting herself on fire in an incident in Jalan Hutan Lipur here. The mother of seven did so allegedly due to disappointment over the attitude of one of her daughters, police said. Seberang Perai Selatan OCPD Supt Shafien Mamat said in the incident which occurred at 12.40am yesterday, the victim was advising her 15-year-old daughter, who was said to be seldom home.
