DHRRA Malaysia is a voluntary non-profit and non-political organization registered in 2006 under the Societies Act of Malaysia 1966. It evolved from what was formerly known as MasDHRRA (1974-1998) and later, DHRRA Network Malaysia (1999 – 2005) that worked towards organizing a strong rural and self-reliant community through poverty alleviation and people’s empowerment initiatives.
A session on stress and conflict management was held at SMK Seri Puteri Ipoh, Perak. This session was especially for SPM students who will be sitting for SPM examinations later this year.

SEREMBAN: The National Registration Department will maintain the services of assistant registrars (ARs) who are vested with powers to conduct the marriages of non-Muslim couples.The department, however, has introduced a new marriage registration system from April 1 to ensure all ARs adhere to the rules when performing such ceremonies.

KUALA LUMPUR: The National Registration Department's (NRD) new marriage registration procedure does not require couples intending to get married to appear for the second time at the NRD office but to choose a place convenient to them to register their marriage.
Its spokesman said the new procedure introduced on April 1 stipulated that couples must appear for the first time at the NRD to register their marriage and could then appear at the NRD or before the assistant registrar of marriages at the temple or church after their registration form had been validated by the NRD.
For more than four decades, Rajes lived as a stateless person; deprived of education and pushed further into realm of poverty. She possessed no legal identification as her birth was not registered by her Malaysian parents. Rajes realized the dire state of her situation when she was 15 years old.
DHRRA Malaysia was invited to reach out to the Indian youths of Sungkai National Service Camp. The program was conducted by Mr Saravanan Sinapan and Miss Nanthini Ramalo in the month of February 2010. National Service was introduced in 2004. The objective of National Service Camp is to enhance patriotism among the youth, enhance unity, instil positive values & morale among the young minds, increase volunteerism and to create a generation of dynamic youths.

KUALA LUMPUR: Statistics show that an increasing number of children are suffering from depression and stress, said Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai.
A study on mental health conducted in 2006 showed that 20.32% of children have mental health problems compared to just 13% in 1996, Liow said in his reply to Datuk Mohd Nasir Ibrahim Fikri (BN - Kuala Nerus).
KUALA LUMPUR: The Home Ministry has introduced a new mechanism that will enable a child born overseas to a Malaysian mother and a foreigner father to obtain Malaysian citizenship.
Applications can be submitted to specially appointed consular officers at Malaysian embassies.
There are, however, several conditions that must be adhered to.
Following the announcement from the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak in the 2010 Budget tabling, the 1Malaysia Retirement Savings Scheme is introduced as the Government's inisiative to ensure that the self-employed and individuals without fixed monthly income have their own savings plan upon reaching the retirement age. This scheme is effective beginning 3 January 2010.
DHRRA Malaysia conducted a skills training program in Negeri Sembilan. In this session, the participants were taught to weave pillow case using ribbon. This program was conducted in collaboration with Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development.
